Proverbs 19:16-17 CEV . . .Obey the Lord's teachings and you will live-- disobey and you will die. (17) Caring for the poor is lending to the LORD  (יהוה), and you will be well repaid.

Proverbs 19:16-17 GNB . . .Keep God's laws and you will live longer; if you ignore them, you will die. (17) When you give to the poor, it is like lending to the LORD  (יהוה), and the LORD  (יהוה) will pay you back.

Proverbs 19:16-17 GW . . .Whoever obeys the law preserves his life, but whoever despises the LORD  (יהוה)'S ways will be put to death. (17) Whoever has pity on the poor lends to the LORD  (יהוה), and he will repay him for his good deed.

Proverbs 19:16-17 BBE . . .He who keeps the law keeps his soul; but death will be the fate of him who takes no note of the word. (17) He who has pity on the poor gives to the Lord, and the Lord will give him his reward.
