Matthew 24:42-44 CEV . . .So be on your guard! You don't know when your Lord will come. (43) Homeowners never know when a thief is coming, and they are always on guard to keep one from breaking in. (44) Always be ready! You don't know when the Son of Man will come.

Matthew 24:42-44 GNB . . .Watch out, then, because you do not know what day your Lord will come. (43) If the owner of a house knew the time when the thief would come, you can be sure that he would stay awake and not let the thief break into his house. (44) So then, you also must always be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you are not expecting him.

Matthew 24:42-44 GW . . ."Therefore, be alert, because you don't know on what day your Lord will return. (43) You realize that if a homeowner had known at what time of the night a thief was coming, he would have stayed awake. He would not have let the thief break into his house. (44) Therefore, you, too, must be ready because the Son of Man will return when you least expect him.

Matthew 24:42-44 ESV . . .Therefore, stay awake, for you do not know on what day your Lord is coming. (43) But know this, that if the master of the house had known in what part of the night the thief was coming, he would have stayed awake and would not have let his house be broken into. (44) Therefore you also must be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.

You will note the reference windows often include more than one translation of the Bible. The reason is to strive to gain the best possible understanding of the original Hebrew and Greek. Since we don't speak those languages, we rely on those who have come before and made the effort to translate those texts into English for us. Considering several translations gives the benefit of the understanding of several translation committees or individuals.
